Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join a vibrant and growing procurement team. This is a fully onsite role! Qualified candidates must be local to the Saline, MI area. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing parts and services for OEM's and outside suppliers to meet our customers' demands while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and budgetary limitations. Responsibilities Purchase of standard and commercial parts and subcontracting services to support their customer requirements. Develop and maintain reliable relationships with suppliers. Global coordination of materials from OEM's. Interfaces with OEMS', internal departments, domestic and international vendors and resolves any supply chain issue using various communication modes. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintain inventory level on responsible parts. Resolve material and cost issues. Copies data and compiles records and reports. Visits suppliers' facilities when required to develop, strengthen or repair relationships. May be required to drive company vehicle to supplier for pick up or delivery of parts. Maintain Item Master fields and plans reorder points for Responsible Parts. Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing, the ability to work independently with minimal guidance, and have a strong proficiency in MS Office. Associate or Bachelor degree in Supply Chain preferred.
