Procurement Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Consultant to support an education-focused organization in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can build structured purchasing workflows, strengthen procurement operations, and bring consistency to how goods and services are sourced across multiple schools. The person in this role will work closely with stakeholders to improve efficiency, support informed purchasing decisions, and help establish reliable procurement standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement purchasing procedures that support the needs of multiple school locations and product categories.
• Review existing procurement activities, identify inefficiencies, and introduce practical process improvements to increase consistency and control.
• Manage the full purchase order cycle, ensuring requests are properly documented, approved, and completed in a timely manner.
• Partner with school and administrative stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and align procurement strategies with operational priorities.
• Lead supplier and contract discussions to secure favorable pricing, service terms, and overall value for the organization.
• Develop standards, guidelines, and documentation that strengthen procurement functions and support compliant buying practices.
• Monitor vendor performance and purchasing trends to recommend adjustments that improve cost effectiveness and service quality.
