Job Description We are hiring a Freelance Sourcing Specialist to support the product development and sourcing process from initial concept through production and delivery. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to help ensure products are developed efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and analytical skills, a passion for product, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. This position operates 4 days onsite in NYC and Fridays are remote. Hourly pay rate based on experience: $28.00-32.00

Responsibilities:

Support sourcing and product development activities within assigned product categories from concept through production and shipment. Assist the Sourcing team with execution of product development initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Prepare and validate purchase order information, ensuring accuracy before submission to vendors. Support product costing analysis and gain understanding of cost components and pricing structures. Review, organize, and evaluate product samples to assess aesthetics, quality, materials, and finishes. Monitor milestone calendars and critical deadlines, proactively identifying risks and communicating updates to stakeholders. Partner with vendors and agents to help ensure timely production and on-time delivery of shipments. Maintain awareness of industry trends, market developments, competitive products, and consumer preferences. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external business partners. Demonstrate a strong understanding of value, quality, and pricing within the retail marketplace.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and other spreadsheet tools Experience in sourcing, merchandising, product development, retail, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
