We are one of the East Coast's leading upscale children's specialty retailers with our corporate headquarters based on Long Island. Known for exceptional fashion, outstanding customer service, and an exciting shopping experience, we are seeking a Children's Fashion & Accessories Buyer to help shape the future of our growing company. Whether you're an experienced retail buyer or a recent college graduate with a Fashion Buying or Fashion Merchandising degree, we want to hear from you. Experience is preferred, but we are committed to training the right individual who has the passion, creativity, and drive to succeed. What You'll Do
- Curate exciting seasonal assortments that reflect the latest trends in children's apparel and accessories.
- Source new brands and products while strengthening relationships with existing vendors.
- Develop and execute buying strategies that drive sales, profitability, and inventory performance.
- Analyze sales, inventory, margins, and Open-to-Buy (OTB) to maximize results.
- Identify promotional opportunities and manage product life cycles from introduction through exit strategies.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best merchandise, pricing, and exclusive opportunities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the competitive marketplace to help provide our company with a competitive edge.
- Spend time in our stores working alongside our teams to better understand customer preferences and improve merchandising.
- Collaborate with leadership, marketing, and store management to create compelling merchandise presentations and successful promotional events. What We're Looking For
- Buying experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Recent college graduates with a degree in Fashion Buying, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of retail math, inventory management, and Open-to-Buy planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor relationship skills.
- A passion for identifying trends before they become mainstream.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
