The Junior Buyer is responsible for assisting in the procurement of goods and services to meet the company's operational needs. This role involves supporting the purchasing team, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
This position is focused on contributing to Catalyst Acoustics group growth. The ideal candidate will exercise a functioning knowledge of market analysis, customer-driven product development, innovation, and promotional programs toward supporting the medium to long-range growth plans of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
Procurement Review MRP & Kanban signals, daily order report and MRD Exception Report. Attain quotes, place purchase orders, expedite as necessary to reduce/eliminate production and direct customer shortages.
Provide prompt support to Customer Service for customer inquiries. Update lead-times for production schedule monthly. Plan/expedite internal work orders to support order requirements.
Work closely with Engineering and Sales on new product introductions. This would include supplier selection, procure prototypes and quoting for production. Supplier Management Manage supplier relationships to meet on time delivery, quality, cost containment and prompt resolution of invoice discrepancies. Negotiating & documenting supplier agreements when required. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the liaison between Engineering, Sales, and Suppliers to resolve questions or issues. Review assigned import entries promptly in accordance to ISO procedure 630P0012. Inventory Planning Support ongoing initiatives by determining and adjusting the appropriate requirements for safety stock. Strategically negotiate with suppliers to maintain proper inventory to meet Catalyst Acoustics Group requirements.
Job Requirement:
Minimum 2 - 3 years purchasing experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in ERP systems along with Kanban knowledge.
Proficient level of competency in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and general PC knowledge.
Ability to multi-task a high volume of projects at one time, successful at prioritizing tasks.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of supplier personnel and is responsible for maintaining supplier relationships.
Travel both locally and out of state and to third-party suppliers.
