Job Description

Position Summary The Food Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing high‑quality food products that meet various dietary needs. This role manages vendor relationships, evaluates pricing, and ensures consistent supply across multiple food categories. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, and skilled in negotiating competitive rates while maintaining compliance with nutritional and regulatory standards. Full‑time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00

Salary:
$75,000 annually

Full benefits package included Key Responsibilities Vendor Negotiation — Work with food suppliers and distributors to secure the best possible pricing. Dietary Compliance — Ensure purchased items meet therapeutic and specialized dietary requirements for nursing homes. Product Sourcing — Identify and evaluate vendors across multiple food categories. Inventory Coordination — Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs and maintain consistent supply. Quality Assurance — Verify product freshness, quality, and vendor reliability. Cost Tracking — Monitor spending, track savings, and support budget planning. Issue Resolution — Address delivery issues, shortages, or product discrepancies promptly. Qualifications Experience in food purchasing, procurement and supply chain. Strong negotiation and vendor‑relationship skills. Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
