What Calvary does Calvary Industries formulates and produces blended process chemicals such as industrial cleaners, conversion coatings, metalworking fluids, and waste treatment chemistries. We also blend, package and otherwise process customer-owned product to customer specifications. Material is shipped in containers ranging from one gallon to bulk tank trucks. With manufacturing capabilities throughout North America and partner's abroad, our geographical service area is extensive. Job Description Calvary Industries is seeking a Buyer or Senior Buyer to manage assigned raw-material suppliers and purchasing categories. This position will lead sourcing, negotiations, supplier performance, cost improvement, and supply-risk mitigation while supporting reliable manufacturing operations. The position may be filled at either level based on the candidate's experience, demonstrated capabilities, and ability to manage complex categories and commercial decisions. Buyer A Buyer independently manages assigned suppliers and moderately complex categories, conducts negotiations, develops alternate sources, and delivers measurable cost and supply-performance improvements. Senior Buyer A Senior Buyer manages larger, more complex, or business-critical categories; develops category strategies; leads significant negotiations; applies market intelligence; manages strategic suppliers; leads cross-functional sourcing initiatives; and mentors team members. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned suppliers and purchasing categories.
  • Lead RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, and negotiations.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight, lead times, minimum quantities, and other commercial conditions.
  • Analyze and challenge supplier price increases using market, cost, and competitive information.
  • Identify and qualify alternate and secondary sources.
  • Monitor material availability and develop solutions for shortages, delays, quality issues, and other supply risks.
  • Track supplier quality, delivery, cost, service, and responsiveness.
  • Lead supplier corrective actions and performance reviews.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and working-capital improvements.
  • Evaluate total delivered cost, including price, freight, inventory, lead time, quality, and risk.
  • Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Finance, R D, and Logistics.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information in the ERP system.
  • Support purchase-order execution and discrepancy resolution as needed. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5-years procurement experience
  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation and sourcing experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP or MRP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, materials, and priorities independently.
  • Chemical, specialty chemical, industrial, or process-manufacturing experience.
  • Direct-material or raw-material sourcing experience.
  • Experience with alternate sourcing, contracts, commodity markets, and supplier performance management.
  • CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or related certification. Skills
