The Buyer manages the procurement of chemical materials to ensure timely availability for sales, production, and customer needs. This includes analyzing demand, creating purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving supply issues while minimizing costs. The role also involves collaborating with internal and external teams to align purchasing activities with business goals.
Responsibilities:
The Buyer needs to be competent at performing the following works through the Purchasing modules under MP Bio's the ERP Info M3 environment.
Supplier Collaboration:
Work with requisitioners to understand needs, negotiate competitive pricing, and convert requisitions into accurate purchase orders.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring material availability and resolving any disputes or quality issues.
Inventory Status Management:
Monitor delivery schedules, material status, and inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and maintain safety stock.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulations, and quality standards in procurement activities.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory non-compliance.
Education/Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
Experience:
Entry-level applicants are also encouraged to apply.
Proactive Mindset:
Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to explore and innovate in work processes.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
Analytical Skills:
