$32.04 $35.26 per hour The Category Buyer / Procurement Specialist provides tactical procurement support for assigned categories and serves as the primary connection between strategic category plans and day-to-day execution. The role manages mid-complexity sourcing events, leads Requests for Proposals (RFPs), supports contract negotiations, coordinates supplier interactions, and ensures procurement activities are completed in a timely, compliant, and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities include partnering closely with business stakeholders to define procurement requirements, managing supplier relationships, administering contracts, and supporting process improvement initiatives. This position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence three days per week at the World Trade Center office and two days remote. Position Responsibilities Execute RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs in alignment with category strategies and organizational procurement requirements. Lead Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and partner closely with business stakeholders to define sourcing requirements, timelines, deliverables, and evaluation criteria. Develop bid packages, coordinate sourcing activities, evaluate supplier responses, and manage supplier selection processes. Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, conditions, and service-based contracts for mid-complexity categories. Ensure procurement activities comply with procurement policies, governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Draft, review, process, and execute contracts, renewals, amendments, and terminations. Maintain accurate contract records and documentation while ensuring workflow and audit readiness requirements are met. Monitor contract expiration dates and coordinate timely renewals or updates. Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding tactical procurement matters, issue resolution, and performance concerns. Support supplier onboarding activities and ensure adherence to governance and compliance standards. Monitor supplier performance and escalate concerns or risks to Category Managers as appropriate. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support procurement planning, sourcing execution, and communication throughout the procurement lifecycle. Provide guidance on procurement processes, sourcing activities, and contract administration procedures. Apply procurement best practices and identify opportunities for operational and process improvements. Support tactical cost optimization initiatives and sourcing efficiency efforts. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2 3 years of direct hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management, or category management. Previous experience in a Procurement Specialist or Buyer role with direct tactical procurement responsibilities. Experience leading Requests for Proposals (RFPs), RFIs, and RFQs for mid-complexity categories. Experience partnering with business stakeholders to define procurement requirements and sourcing strategies. Experience negotiating service-based contracts, pricing, commercial terms, and vendor agreements. Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SharePoint, eRecords, or similar platforms. Intermediate knowledge of procurement methods, inventory practices, sourcing strategies, and market evaluation techniques. Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills. Effective communication, collaboration, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks, maintain accuracy, and adapt to changing priorities. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. CPSM, CIPS, or related procurement certification preferred. Ability to work onsite three days per week in a hybrid environment.Must-Have:
