Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today's and tomorrow's power grid! We are looking for a Procurement Specialist / Strategic Plant Buyer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC or Heber Springs, AR. Relocation assistance is available. You will drive sourcing and supplier strategies for assigned manufacturing plants. In this role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to secure reliable supply, optimize costs, mitigate risk, and support business growth through effective supplier management and sourcing execution. Roles & Responsibilities Developing and qualifying new suppliers while benchmarking capabilities, capacity, and cost competitiveness. Leading sourcing activities including RFQs, supplier selection, tooling support, and capacity planning. Building resilient supply strategies that support growth, risk mitigation, and operational continuity. Partnering with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to align sourcing decisions with business objectives. Driving supplier performance, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, controls, and best practices. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or 3+ years of procurement experience. Experience managing RFQs, supplier selection, and supplier performance. Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to travel up to 10%. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience sourcing Hardware, Packaging, MRO, or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs. Manufacturing or industrial procurement experience. Experience with ERP, eSourcing, and supplier management systems. Knowledge of supplier quality, capacity planning, and production ramp-ups.About Siemens:
