Job Description

We are seeking a temporary Buyer to be based in our Landrum location, working 3 days per week in-office and up to 2 days per week remote.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under limited supervision, will be responsible for procurement, scheduling and expediting of designated goods and services. Have authority to issue purchase orders up to $50k and long-term commitment up to six months. Determine availability of supply for requested items. Contacts vendors to improve delivery schedules. Reconciliation of accounts payable invoices that reflects variances between purchase order and invoice. Responsible for distribution of initial stages of DMR and working with vendor to correct quality issues. Anything else deemed necessary by department manager.Junior Buyer:
Must purchase, schedule and expedite specific goods and services based on information obtained from computer reports and purchase request as directed by Planning & Inventory Manager and Senior Buyer. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.Senior Buyer:
Responsible for purchasing adequate amounts to support production with fabric, key component accessories and forecasted numbers, in assisting with the PIM. Responsible for inventory counting, maintaining WIP and finished goods sheets and reconciling the inventory. Ensures cycle counts are coordinated with shipping department on a weekly basis.SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to learn and apply purchasing methods and procedures; interprets and analyzes data. Prepare and maintain procurement records and reports. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface in a professional manner with all levels of personnel. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Some general accounting skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Able to use general office equipment preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing terminology preferred.PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years as a Junior Buyer or Expediter in a manufacturing environment utilizing a computer-generated system.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
