Job Description

Senior Buyer Position Description Manage the procurement process for assigned commodities; order producion materials on a timely basis at the most competitive prices. Ensure compliance with company's established procurement processes while developing and maintaining supplier relationships. Ideal candidate will have prior experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment and possess a sense of urgency to revolve time-critical supply issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
Analyze purchase economics to make most effective price and quantity buying decision. Place purchase orders on a timely basis per MRP demand. Ensure delivery dates meet production requirements. Buy at the best possible price.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with production planning, manufacturing and engineering to solve procurement and lead-time challenges. Find suitable substitutes as necessary. Work with team to validate vendors and items.
Developing Procurement Strategies:
Creating and implementing strategies for cost reduction, efficient sourcing, and risk management.
Staying Updated:
Keeping abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in purchasing and procurement.
Ensuring Compliance:
Ensuring that purchasing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
Essential Skills:
Negotiation and Communication:
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts and communicate effectively.
Analytical and Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
Organizational and Time Management:
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with purchasing software, data analysis tools, and inventory management systems.
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics, and relevant industry regulations.
Financial Acumen:
Ability to manage budgets, analyze costs, and contribute to financial performance. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the
United States Pay:
$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
