The Buyer is part of a centralized procurement team that processes requests for materials by strategically sourcing, placing and expediting orders with vendors. In this role you will actively compile bid packages to identify strategic supplier resources to improve overall purchasing efficiency, accuracy and compliance with preferred supplier programs.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Process purchase requisitions, source, and place purchase orders. Coordinate with suppliers to expedite materials on order. Verify all documentation is received, including packing slips, for items received. Match PO to bill of laden and process receipt of goods transactions. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve price and quantity variances. Negotiate pricing and payment terms to obtain the best overall pricing. Request and obtain RFP's (Request for Pricing) from vendors and perform bid analysis. Participate in the vendor performance evaluation process. Additional materials management duties as needed. Administer a fleet of 300+ trucks (Manage fleet applications and assist drivers with platform access and utilization).Experience:
2 - 3 years of experienceSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:
College degree preferred. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate at all levels of the organization. Highly driven, self-motivated and well organized. Ability to perform daily tasks while providing exceptional customer service internally and externally. NetSuite ERP experience is a plus. Ability to pass a drug & alcohol test and background check in compliance with our safety program.
