If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want you to join our team! As a Buyer / Material Planner, you will play a critical role in creating precision test specimens that are used in hundreds of laboratories all over the world. Our products are used in Research & Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance. Our customers test jet fuel, aircraft components, lubricants, coolants, paints, coatings and adhesives. Metaspec products are the global standard in specialty test specimens and we ship all over the world. Your work will help give our production team the materials, supplies and information they need to deliver high-quality products to our customers on time. Your attention to detail, ability to plan ahead and talent for solving problems will make a real difference every day. When you do your job well, our production team can focus on what they do best: transforming raw materials into precision products that help our customers meet the highest quality and safety standards. We are proud of the work we do, and we know that you will be too. Some of the things you will do include: Purchasing raw materials, components, supplies and outside services needed to support production. Working with suppliers to obtain pricing, confirm lead times and make sure materials arrive when they are needed. Planning material requirements and helping ensure that we have the right inventory without tying up unnecessary cash in materials we don't need. Reviewing customer demand, production requirements and inventory levels to help establish priorities and keep production moving. Working closely with our production, sales and customer service teams to balance priorities and meet customer commitments. Maintaining accurate purchasing, inventory and planning information in our business systems. Troubleshooting supply chain and scheduling problems and finding practical solutions when things don't go according to plan. Building strong relationships with suppliers and looking for opportunities to improve cost, quality and delivery. As you gain experience and expertise, you'll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility, become more involved in supplier development and strategic purchasing, and help improve the systems and processes that keep our business running. Experience with purchasing, production planning, inventory management or a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working with an ERP or other business management system is also a plus. Experience using Quickbooks Desktop is a big plus. A desire to learn and understand how things are made.
