General Statement of Duties Performs specialized paraprofessional duties in support of County-wide procurement operations. Coordinates the administration of the County's purchasing card (P-Card) program, maintains vendor databases, and provides technical assistance to County departments and external vendors regarding procurement policies and systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Duties The ideal candidate will have knowledge of governmental purchasing laws, practices, and procedures; knowledge of purchasing methods and sources of commodities; proven skills in computer use, customer service, organization, and analysis; and the ability to maintain effective and harmonious relationships, an effective filing and recordkeeping system, confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision. Some knowledge of the laws, practices and applicable procedures used in governmental purchasing Knowledge of methods of purchasing goods and supply sources of commodities Good knowledge of and proven skill in the use of a personal computer and the ability to learn and effectively use commonly utilized business software packages Proven customer service skills and the ability to deal courteously, tactfully and effectively with vendors and their representatives Ability to develop and maintain effective and harmonious relationships with representatives from other County agencies and departments Ability to develop and maintain an effective filing and recordkeeping system Proven organizational skills Good knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment Good analytical skill Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Additional Information Starting salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements Education:
Graduation from high school or GED, and experience: Four (4) years of related experience in purchasing, bookkeeping, or administrative support; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
