Job Description
Buyer I responsible for sourcing, purchasing, supplier coordination, and material delivery activities in compliance with government acquisition requirements and production schedules. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree with 0-1 years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements. Experience in aerospace, military, defense, or a similar regulated industry. Understanding of military specifications. Understanding of federal acquisition regulations. Knowledge of products, materials, and supplier capabilities related to purchasing activities. Experience with purchase order creation and administration. Experience obtaining supplier quotations and evaluating pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and terms and conditions. Preferred Skills Experience purchasing custom or nonstandard components. Knowledge of commodity markets and supply base capabilities. Experience supporting material planning and production schedules. Experience identifying supplier cost reduction opportunities. Experience with supplier performance, product lifecycle, and sourcing analysis. Knowledge of government-regulated procurement processes. Job Responsibilities Evaluate purchase requisitions for custom and nonstandard items. Review technical specifications and identify sourcing alternatives. Determine appropriate sources of supply based on supplier capabilities, product performance, and supply base knowledge. Create and administer purchase orders. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations for pricing, quality, delivery, and contractual terms. Monitor commodity and market conditions to identify component cost reduction opportunities. Establish preferred supplier relationships and support supplier cost reduction initiatives. Coordinate with material planning to identify purchasing and cost reduction opportunities. Issue purchase orders in support of production and program schedules. Monitor supplier deliveries and address material delivery issues affecting production requirements. Coordinate material requirements with program management, production planning, and material planning functions. Support resolution of supplier quality, delivery, and purchasing issues. Maintain supplier and product lifecycle information. Ensure purchasing activities comply with applicable government regulations, including FAR and DFARS requirements. Support purchasing process improvement and procurement performance initiatives.
Pay:
