Job Summary:
We are seeking a bilingual (Korean/English) customer-focused Freight Forwarding Assistant Manager to support the successful movement of domestic and international shipments across air, ocean, and ground transportation channels. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service while ensuring shipments move efficiently from origin to destination. As a key member of our operations team, you will coordinate freight forwarding activities, manage shipment documentation, communicate with customers and transportation partners, and help ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations and service requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, review, and maintain export shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and other ocean freight transportation documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordinate drayage carriers, trucking providers, steamship lines, warehouses, and customers to support timely movement of ocean export shipments from origin through port departure. Monitor shipment status, track container movements and vessel schedules, proactively resolve delays or exceptions, and communicate shipment updates to customers, carriers, and internal operations teams. Perform accurate data entry and maintain shipment records, transportation documentation, and operational reports within the transportation management system (TMS) and other company platforms. Support compliance with U.S. export regulations, carrier requirements, customer specifications, and company policies while contributing to operational efficiency and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned to support ocean export and transportation operations.
Requirements:
Bilingual in English and Korean (required) due to our clients being from major Asia ports. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, supply chain operations, or a related industry Working knowledge of domestic and international freight forwarding processes, including air, ocean, and ground transportation Experience coordinating shipments and communicating with carriers, customers, warehouses, customs brokers, and transportation providers Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused mindset Ability to identify issues, analyze information, and implement effective solutions to transportation and service-related challenges Proficiency in
