$45,000•$55,000 per year (commensurate with experience; higher negotiable for exceptional candidates)
Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 8:30 AM•5:30 PM (8-hour workday; lunch 30-60 minutes; end time flexible between 5:00-5:30 PM) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established logistics and freight forwarding company with a strong global network, is seeking a motivated Bilingual (Japanese/English) Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their team in Roswell, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career with potential growth into a future management role. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Position Summary The Freight Forwarding Clerk is responsible for performing import and export-related duties to organize the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of goods while meeting customer delivery requirements. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Key Responsibilities Logistics Coordination Research and plan the most appropriate shipping routes based on the nature of goods and customer requirements. Arrange suitable packaging considering climate, weight, nature of goods, cost, delivery, and warehousing at the final destination. Obtain, verify, and prepare required documentation to meet customer and insurance requirements. Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure smooth transfer of items in line with customer expectations. Arrange payment of freight fees and other related charges. Track shipping status using assigned systems. Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Prepare competitive and profitable quotations by negotiating with subcontractors and vendors. Handle and troubleshoot customer claims promptly, escalating to Assistant Manager/Manager when needed. Provide accurate shipping information to customs brokers for timely clearance. Other Duties Continuously seek more efficient and cost-effective work processes. Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace. Report irregular issues to the Supervisor/Assistant Manager for resolution. Maintain effective communication with managers, coworkers, and external partners. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Qualifications Required Bilingual in Japanese and English (business-level proficiency in both languages) High school diploma or GED, OR 1+ years of related experience/training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred 2-3 years of operations experience at a logistics/freight forwarding company. Compensation and Benefits Salary:
$45,000•$55,000/year (negotiable based on experience)
Bonus:
Performance-based (not guaranteed); no commission Benefits Package (effective as of April 2026, subject to change): Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance — eligible the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment (employee contributes 14.5% of premium) 401(k) Retirement Plan — eligible after 1 year of employment; company match up to 4% of gross pay Life Insurance — optional, employee-paid; eligible after 60 days of employment Paid Vacation — accrues monthly after 90-day probation: Year 1: 6.67 hours/month Years 2-3: 80 hours/year Year 4: 96 hours/year Year 5: 120 hours/year Year 15+: 160 hours/year Paid Sick Leave — 48 hours in Year 1, 60 hours in Years 2-3, 68 hours from Year 4 onward (granted every January 1st) 11 Paid Holidays plus 1 additional Paid Birthday Holiday Unused Vacation Buyback Program — unused vacation hours at year-end are bought back in January Unused Birthday Holiday is also eligible for buyback ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Additional Information Reports to:
