Duties Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with to deliver shipping containers to designated locations. Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure on-time deliveries across local routes. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, adhering strictly to logistics cargo handling procedures. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports while communicating effectively with dispatch teams regarding route progress or issues. Assist in securing loads properly to prevent shifting during transit and ensure safe delivery at each stop. Qualifications Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Proven experience in delivery driving, route driving, or freight transportation within local or regional settings. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient deliveries. Experience with logistics cargo handling including load & unload procedures for freight such as dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance for over-the-road (OTR) routes or local deliveries.
