The role serves as the primary logistics point of contact for inbound materials, outbound shipments, and complex deliveries requiring specialized carriers, cranes, and job-site coordination. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented problem solver with strong shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination experience, including the scheduling of oversized loads. Responsibilities
  • Provide visible leadership and commitment to a culture of safety to support injury-free operations.
  • Support established programs and processes to ensure effective collaboration across all departments.
  • Implement improvement actions to address operational and departmental issues.
  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving workload to maximize efficiency.
  • Prepare and print shipping labels and shipping documentation.
  • Request, review, and evaluate freight and transportation quotes.
  • Process shipments using the company's shipping systems.
  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Receive incoming material, verify quantities and condition against packing lists, and update the ERP system.
  • Prepare bills of lading and other required freight documentation.
  • Schedule drivers, carriers, and pickups/deliveries in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Coordinate material movement to support production schedules.
  • Load and unload product from internal and external customer vehicles and vendor delivery vehicles.
  • Coordinate shipment of completed buildings and large assemblies.
  • Schedule and manage heavy-haul and specialized transportation providers.
  • Schedule crane and rigging services.
  • Coordinate loading and delivery windows.
  • Communicate with transportation vendors, crane companies.
  • Confirm site readiness, access requirements, delivery constraints, and special handling needs.
  • Track in-transit shipments and proactively communicate status changes.
  • Assist with freight damage investigations and claims.
  • Perform cycle counts and support annual physical inventories as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure shipping supplies are maintained.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned. Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience scheduling carriers and coordinating oversized or heavy shipments.
  • Ability to work effectively in an ERP and shipping system environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Certified forklift operator or ability to become certified.
  • Required to wear PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and other safety equipment as required.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Routine lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must possess good vision (normal or corrected).
