Serving the Brickell, Central Business District, and Arts & Entertainment District, the Miami DDA leads business development and retention initiatives, advances infrastructure and capital improvement projects, and delivers innovative programs that foster economic growth, urban vibrancy, and community well-being. Through strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors, the Miami DDA is positioning Downtown Miami as a premier global destination for business, culture, innovation, and tourism. Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director The Miami Downtown Development Authority is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and results-oriented leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director. Reporting directly to the Miami DDA Board of Directors, the CEO/Executive Director will lead the Agency's strategic direction, organizational performance, and day-to-day operations. As the public face of the organization, this executive will oversee business development, urban planning, marketing, finance, human resources, quality of life initiatives, technology, and organizational strategy while working closely with the Board to advance Downtown Miami's continued growth and long-term vision. Key Responsibilities Provide visionary leadership and execute the Agency's strategic plan in alignment with the Miami DDA's mission and priorities. Partner with the Board of Directors to establish organizational goals, monitor performance, and ensure transparency and accountability. Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace culture. Oversee the Agency's financial management, budgeting, contracts, policies, operations, and organizational effectiveness. Build and strengthen relationships with elected officials, business leaders, developers, community organizations, residents, and other key stakeholders. Drive economic development, business attraction and retention, placemaking, marketing, and branding initiatives that enhance Downtown Miami's competitiveness and global profile. Represent the Miami DDA at local, regional, national, and international events while serving as a trusted ambassador for Downtown Miami. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economic Development, or a related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience, including working with Boards of Directors, government agencies, elected officials, and funding partners. Demonstrated success leading complex organizations, managing budgets, implementing strategic initiatives, and building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. English fluency required; Spanish proficiency is highly desirable. Why Join the Miami DDA? Do you possess a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economic Development, or a related field? Do you hold a master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field? Do you have experience reporting directly to and working with a Board of Directors? Have you served as the chief executive, executive director, president, or equivalent senior leader of an organization? Do you have experience working with local, state, or federal government agencies? Do you have experience managing an organization with an annual operating budget of at least $10 million?
