For individuals seeking purposeful work, strong community connections, and access to world-class outdoor recreation, Leadville provides a rare and inspiring place to live and serve Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or other related field Bachelor's degree with extensive executive healthcare leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required Minimum of 3 years in executive or senior leadership role preferred Experience with Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Systems, Ambulatory or physician operations required Experience managing Human Resources, Clinic Operations, budgeting, and strategic planning preferred Strong leadership and organizational development skills Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including CMS, OSHA, HIPAA, and Human Resources employment regulations Strong financial management and operational analysis skills Ability to manage multiple departments and competing priorities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare technology integration Strategic planning and change management experience Ability to foster collaboration between clinical and non-clinical departments Experience negotiating and managing provider/service contracts Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at St. Vincent Health is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial performance of the organization's ambulatory and support service lines. This executive leader provides direct oversight of Human Resources, Information Technology, Clinic Operations, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services. The COO collaborates closely with executive leadership, providers, directors, and department managers to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, workforce engagement, and fiscal responsibility. The position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that support organizational growth, quality improvement, patient access, and operational efficiency within a Critical Access Hospital environment. This position also oversees provider and service contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, operational alignment, and financial stewardship Operational Leadership Provide executive oversight of ambulatory and support service operations Develop operational goals aligned with organizational strategic initiatives Monitor departmental performance indicators and implement improvement strategies Ensure efficient workflows and patient-centered operations across all departments Humna Resources Oversight Provide oversight of HR operations, including: Recruitment Retension Employee Relations Performance management Compensation planning Policy development Compliance initiative Promote employee engagement and workforce development strategies Information Technology Oversight Oversee healthcare technology operations and IT infrastructure Collaborate with vendors and IT team regarding cybersecurity, EMR, optimization, and operational systems Ensure continuity planning and technology compliance standards are maintained Clinic and Rehabilitation Service Oversight Direct oversight of all ambulatory clinic operations, including the Rural Health Clinic (RHC), Specialty Clinic Services, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy Ensure compliance with RHC regulatory requirements, billing standards, provider staffing requirements, and operational guidelines Collaborate with providers, clinic manager, and support staff to improve patient access, patient satisfaction, scheduling efficiency, and continuity of care across primary and specialty services Oversee rehabilitation service operations to ensure quality patient care, appropriate staffing, regulatory compliance, productivity standards, and service line growth Develop and implement operational strategies to improve workflow efficiency, patient throughput, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration between the clinic and rehabilitation departments Monitor clinic and rehabilitation performance indicators, including patient volume, provider productivity, reimbursement trends, quality metrics, and patient outcomes Support expansion and development of ambulatory and specialty services to meet organizational and community healthcare needs Financial and Strategic Management Develop and manage departmental budgets Analyze operational and financial reports to improve performance Participate in long-range strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives Promote a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement Leadership and Collaboration Serve as a member of the executive leadership team Collaborate with providers, directors, managers, and community stakeholders Support organizational culture initiatives and leadership development
