Job Description
Join our team as a Superintendent. The Superintendent is responsible for managing plant operations in an efficient manner to meet customer expectations. This includes safety, quality, productivity, Our Philosophy, and talent management. They lead the operations team in executing team objectives and driving transformational objectives through the Worthington Business Solutions process. Responsible for development of all personnel from leadership to hourly production. The Superintendent reviews orders and production schedules to determine work force requirements and capacity constraints, implements change from continuous improvement through schedules, processes, procedures, standards and other factors to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction and directs operations through other managers, coordinators and administrators. Responsibilities Ensure that production plans & staffing are in line with customer and sales expectations including the use of overtime and overall headcount. Reviews processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. Ability to recognize cost cutting initiatives to increase production. Supports new process and product development and implementation. Monitors overall plant performance for production, transformation and quality standards by developing and reviewing reports and metrics. Develops systems and sets performance targets and measures that appropriately assess the performance of the plant and direct reports, and reviews progress to ensure achievement of targets. Talent Management including performance evaluations and feedback, goal setting and tracking, employee interaction, merits, coaching and mentoring to achieve cultural and performance standards by the Worthington Philosophy. Coaches salary direct reports on handling employee disciplinary issues using independent judgement in partnership with HR. Ensures safety metrics and goals are achieved. Works closely with
