The Director will pursue and manage grant funding and other incentives to meet corporate decarbonization goals and regulatory requirements. The position will engage cross-functionally within Carrix to ensure projects are developed and implemented successfully. The role will advocate externally on topics relevant to the success of the Carrix sustainability strategy. Implement strategies to maximize funding opportunities for Carrix's equipment and infrastructure needs, including building partnerships with external stakeholders. Manage active Carrix grant projects portfolio ($300+ million), ensuring project compliance with all granting agency requirements. Track and communicate project progress and associated benefits to shareholders. Support integration of sustainability and environmental priorities into terminal development projects and business development opportunities. Develop competitive proposals for sustainability projects, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other strategic initiatives. Represent Carrix and advocate on sustainability issues to port authorities and regulators. Coordinate with the relevant divisions or departments to develop and implement organizational processes and policy changes needed for sustainability objectives and grant compliance. Prepare schedules, reports, budgets, or other financial documents related to sustainability projects or initiatives. Refine Carrix grant compliance materials and annually train cross-functional teams. Coordinate information and best practice sharing across operations and corporate teams. Manage direct reports and/or consultants engaged in sustainability projects on behalf of Carrix. Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainability or related field, ideally in the maritime/transportation/energy industry. Experience in marine terminal operations helpful, but not required Demonstrated practical, operational approach in overseeing corporate change processes related to sustainable practices Self-motivated to work with diverse business scenarios, handling multiple priorities and have a business and consultancy mind-set Strong interpersonal skills Strong experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to collaborate with and engage teams Highly organized, independent, and flexible. Ability to prepare administrative paperwork. Detailed oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
Work environment:
Must be able to travel - up to 50% to domestic and international locations. Office environment; exposure to computer screens. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
