Contract Administrator / Category ManagerJob Summary We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator / Category Manager to support procurement, sourcing, contract management, and vendor relationships within a complex healthcare environment. This role will plan and manage contract-related activities associated with the procurement of goods and services for assigned categories. The position will develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, evaluate contracts and suppliers, analyze spending, negotiate pricing, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, contract administration, and vendor negotiations , preferably within a large hospital or multi-hospital healthcare system. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, along with experience using Oracle, Lawson, Excel, and ERP systems , are required. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in: Supply Chain Management Operations Business Accounting Contract Administration Procurement Related field Experience 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in: Purchasing Contract administration Vendor negotiations Strategic sourcing Experience working within a complex organization, preferably: Multi-hospital healthcare system Large hospital Healthcare supply chain environment Contract review experience required Contract/database and ERP experience required Oracle experience required Lawson experience required Strong Excel experience Demonstrated critical-thinking and analytical abilities Ability to successfully work independently Key Responsibilities Plan and manage contract-related activities and processes associated with the procurement of goods and services for assigned categories Develop and implement sourcing management strategies aligned with organizational objectives Manage product portfolios, vendor relationships, product selection, and supplier base development Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and execute category sourcing initiatives designed to deliver savings Manage pricing and overall sourcing strategies for assigned products and services Pull and analyze purchase plans, benchmarking reports, and spend data Compare and evaluate purchasing options and provide recommendations Develop economic valuations, summaries, scenarios, and service-level agreements Support sourcing leadership with "what-if" scenario development to identify the best economic value for the organization Review internal and external service-level agreements Prepare information and materials for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) Manage the end-to-end procurement process and maintain accountability for supply assurance Work with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and key distributor partners Develop and execute category strategies for assigned product portfolios Forecast short- and long-term organizational needs and develop strategic plans accordingly Assist with deal evaluation models and presentations for executive management Research and develop new information sources and analytical techniques to improve category management Evaluate supplier capabilities, competitive positioning, industry cost models, and category performance Develop category management reporting and benchmarking analyses Identify operational opportunities and challenges using data-driven insights Target high-volume and high-cost suppliers for focused management and cost-reduction opportunities Oversee sourcing and supplier engagement activities Analyze spending patterns and contracts Conduct bid evaluations and vendor negotiations Manage change orders, rebates, supplier consolidation, and contract closeouts Utilize internal and external benchmarks to develop meaningful cost and performance comparisons Identify opportunities for standardization, resource optimization, and process improvement Update applicable policies and procedures Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal customers to develop strategic and tactical solutions Evaluate requests for new products and technology Develop effective cost-reduction strategies Facilitate and lead stakeholder reviews regarding vendor performance, future opportunities, and challenges Balance quality, service, availability, and overall value when developing category strategies Maintain accurate contract information to ensure consistency and adherence to sourcing and contracting processes Support effective supplier relationship management
