Shift Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Administrator / Proposal & Pricing Specialist to join an established aerospace manufacturing team in Santa Fe Springs. This position will support the quoting and proposal process from initial customer request through final bid submission. The ideal candidate brings a unique combination of contracts administration, technical/engineering understanding, cost and pricing experience, and strong written communication skills . This role requires regular collaboration with Engineering, Materials, senior management, customers, and other internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Review incoming customer requests and enter quotes into the Made2Manage ERP system , properly identifying RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs Evaluate Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for completeness and request additional documentation when necessary Coordinate with suppliers to obtain material pricing and incorporate responses into Excel-based cost models Partner with Engineering to develop preliminary manufacturing plans and estimate labor requirements Assemble material, labor, and other cost information into complete pricing models Present completed cost models to senior management for review and approval Prepare compelling, accurate, and compliant bid response letters for customers Communicate directly with customers throughout the bidding and proposal process Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Materials, Contracts, and other departments to gather information needed for proposals Support pricing strategies by considering competitive intelligence, customer requirements, and innovative approaches Maintain accurate proposal and quote documentation throughout the process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required 3+ years of relevant professional experience in contracts, proposals, pricing, engineering support, or a related environment Knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements for federal or defense contracts Experience working with both technical/engineering documentation and administrative/contracts language Previous experience directly writing and submitting grant proposals, bid proposals, or experimental study outlines Strong understanding of RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes Ability to interpret technical information and collaborate effectively with Engineering and Materials teams Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Strong written communication and proposal-writing skills Ability to communicate effectively with individuals ranging from hourly personnel to senior management Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience with Made2Manage or another manufacturing ERP system is a plus What Makes Someone Successful in This Role This is a hands-on and multifaceted position that combines contracts, proposals, engineering coordination, materials, and cost/pricing analysis . The successful candidate will be comfortable working through technical information, manually building cost models in Excel, communicating with customers and internal stakeholders, and developing competitive and compliant bid responses in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. #ILB123
