Direct Hire Position Summary The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating quality assurance programs and audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards. This role oversees inspection, lab, NDT, and ultrasonic operations while driving continuous improvement in quality systems, employee performance, and product compliance within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and departmental standard operating procedures. Manage inspection, lab, NDT, and ultrasonic departments, including scheduling, productivity, and team morale. Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and implement cross-training and development programs. Maintain and improve the quality management system to prevent systemic issues in production and process areas. Lead Material Review Board (MRB), internal and external audits, CAPA, document control, supplier reviews, and quality record management. Approve finished product and raw material specifications, as well as master manufacturing and batch records. Drive quality improvements plant-wide through training, process optimization, and performance metrics. Interface with customers to resolve issues and ensure quality satisfaction. Maintain QA records and ensure calibration, certification, and compliance of all testing equipment. Develop, update, and implement standard operating procedures and quality manuals. Analyze quality control results and communicate findings to manufacturing and engineering teams. Prepare reports, metrics, and trend data to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities. Develop and execute internal audit schedules and perform quality audits as needed. Perform additional functions as assigned by Quality Leadership. Physical Requirements Approximately 30% office/computer work and 70% time spent on the shop floor. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs and move light, bulky materials using carts. Exposure to moving machinery, airborne particles, chemicals, and fumes; safety awareness is essential. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of quality assurance management experience in the aerospace industry. Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards and quality management systems. Proven experience leading audits, MRB, CAPA, and quality control programs. Preferred Certifications ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. Additional Information ITAR compliance required.
Exempt position:
Monday - Friday, 9-hour workdays (45 hours per week). Full-time, on-site position in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
