Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to develop complete quote proposals, specializing in boiler pressure parts, within the Global Parts & Services organization. The Proposal Manager reports to the Product Support Manager and may also support requests from our Field Engineering Services, International Replacement Parts, and the Regional Project Manager groups. The Proposal Manager is responsible for the development, research, cost/price development, and definition of scope for quote opportunities based on customer requests. This role requires interaction with customers through multiple communication interfaces including, email, phone, and/or customer specific message boards. DUTIES Determine complete scope of customer request from both internal or external customers Research original contracts, aftermarket contracts, engineering resources, and technical standards to determine the specifics of scope that should be offered Formalize complete description for scope being offered and identify most effective manufacturing facility Determine total cost, price, and lead time for identified scope, which may be accomplished via resources available in supply chain management, transportation, graphics, engineering, estimating, pricing, and/or order management group or resources available within the Product Support group Follow up with required groups and utilize routing system to track and expedite quote completion Maintain quote ownership and can work on multiple quotes simultaneously while managing workload priority Final review before quote is submitted to customer Primary point of contact for follow up questions (including technical) from various internal and external customers
