Job Description Responsible for the development, negotiation, and drafting of complex commercial contracts and other legal documents between DHL and its customers and manages the contracting process within DHL. Responsibilities Prepare first draft of the commercial contract or review commercial contract provided by customer.
This includes the contract terms and conditions along with the logistics-business-related content for the contract. Negotiates and tailors specific contract provisions, within corporate legal guidelines, to address both DHL's and external customer's requirements. Work closely with internal business partners to review, edit, and negotiate customer contracts and amendments. Analyzes contract language for risk and reward balance, determine exposures, and advise/provide recommendations to the DHL account team regarding changes being proposed by customers to DHL Responsible for submitting the negotiated commercial contract through the DHL Contract Approval Process for execution and maintaining its record in the DHL Global Contracts Database. Assist DHL account team in reviewing and responding to contractual claims and disputes. Responsible for gaining the applicable and necessary DHL account team inputs and sign-offs on all terms included in legal documents before releasing to customer. Responsible for actively improving processes within the contract management function. Identifies and leads the execution of continuous improvement projects for the contract management function. Drives consistency in contractual elements of commercial contracts throughout the business through maintenance and use of standard templates and supporting tools (e.g. clause library, Risk Guidelines, DHL Contracting Guidelines, etc.). Provides guidance for contracting department's Analysts and Senior Analysts. Conducts onboarding training for new team members as well as leads commercial contract management training for broader business partners. Completes required internal and external trainings. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree 3-5 years of general business experience, preferably in commercial analysis or commercial finance role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Analytical, reporting and presentation skills General project management skills Strong organizational skills which reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders Our Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
