Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and independently negotiate complex, high-value supplier contracts and statements of work. Ensure contract terms comply with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Risk Management) to align contracts with business requirements. Support RFI, RFQ, and RFP activities, participating in supplier discussions to address legal inquiries. Identify, assess, and document contractual risks (liability, data protection) and present mitigation strategies to senior leadership. Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders for contract escalations and dispute resolution. Utilize tools like Ariba and Microsoft Office to manage contract lifecycles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's or JD strongly preferred. 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years drafting and independently negotiating complex, high-dollar contracts. 3+ years advising senior leaders on contract law, risks, and deal structures. Proven ability to manage a high volume of negotiations simultaneously with minimal oversight. Experience with Ariba Contract Management, retail/healthcare industries, and indirect commodity purchases preferred. Certifications such as C.P.M., C.P.P.O., C.F.C.M., or C.P.C.M. are a plus.
