We are looking for a Manager of Business and Legal Affairs to join our team, supporting end-to-end business and legal affairs workflows across a high volume of concurrent commercial, editorial, and branded social campaigns. This role begins with attorney oversight across all contract and clearance work, with autonomy expanding over specific contract types and decision points as judgment and trust are established.What You'll Do:
Serve as first point of triage for incoming business and legal requests, assessing scope, directing to self-service resources, escalation, or general support across production, business and creative departments Draft and negotiate standard production related agreements (e.g., talent, location, rental, appearances releases) and a variety of business partnership and marketing contracts including SOWs, IOs, addendums, NDAs Experience with brand partnership campaigns and ability to advise teams on marketing legal issues (e.g., FTC guidelines) Conduct clearance review of multi-platform content across all production phases — including intellectual property, fair use, public domain, right of publicity, defamation, and union rules — advising creative teams and confirming necessary rights and releases are obtained prior to distribution Serve as a point of contact for talent agencies and casting teams to facilitate high level negotiations and agreement drafting and ability to advise Advise production teams on guild/union restrictions and requirements (e.g., SAG-AFTRA) Coordinate across departments to implement legal policies and procedures Other day-to-day business and legal affairs tasks as requested Qualifications 4+ years experience in an entertainment law setting as a Business & Legal Affairs professional Professional experience in media business (e.g., TV, film, digital media) or marketing agencies Familiarity with IAB/DAN standard terms is a plus Excellent organizational and record management skills Flexible team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor considered Comfort using AI-assisted drafting tools and prompting techniques is a plus Compensation This position has an estimated annual salary range of $85,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls. Location Candidates can be based in Los Angeles or New York.
