The Capital Signage Program focuses on designing, fabricating, and installing new signage within new facilities and/or rolling out new standards. This assignment will collaboratively perform a variety of project management and administrative functions such as assisting in management of projects, contracts and budgets; writing and/or drafting correspondence, criteria and contract supporting documents; researching materials and products; producing reports; surveying existing sites, drawings, and work completed in the field; executing site inspections and punch lists; producing and/or tracking graphic materials and signage documents; entering data in FileMaker to generate message schedules; engaging with project teams and architectural drawings to ensure sign location plans are accurate; collaborating with our graphic design team to finalize production-ready artwork; overseeing vendors and monitoring small contracts; managing signage project schedules and budgets and monitoring expenditures/change requests/work progress; responding to inquiries about the department from managers of other departments; working collaboratively with agency staff, design consultants, and signage contractors; and providing general support as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

This assignment requires strong experience with the signage industry, signage documentation and production methods; as well as project management and contract administration. Knowledge of custom signage, as well as code-required signage necessary. Knowledge of data entry, along with foundational contract administration skills such as reviewing scopes of work, change orders, invoices, and procurement documents. The candidate should be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint, with the ability to prepare spreadsheets, reports, correspondence, technical documents; and read construction documents. Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings and plans is necessary. They bring at minimum minor project management and contract/vendor administration experience, including supporting the signage team as assigned through procurement stages, reviewing signage documentation, and inspecting completed work. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential, as are organizational abilities, accurate record‑keeping, and multitasking. The assignment also requires sound judgment, independent problem‑solving, and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and learn the agency's signage standards and how to apply them. Additional capabilities include producing presentations, PowerPoints and/or reports, conducting research, preparing recommendations, maintaining filing systems, delivering excellent customer service, and working effectively with staff, management, vendors, and partner agencies. This assignment benefits from a self‑starter who can work independently while collaborating well across departments. Working knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, FileMaker Pro, and/or SmartSheets a plus. Work will be hybrid, with 3 days on-site minimum required, performed in a standard office environment as well as on construction sites and active transit facilities. #teamk
