Summer Internship Mergers & Acquisitions About us: The Westervelt Company is a privately owned land stewardship organization headquartered in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With over half a million acres of timberlands, we sustain our natural resources for the future. We are stewards of the land.
Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to give support to our Mergers & Acquisitions Team. Duties will primarily be assisting the team in modeling timberland transactions, researching topics pertaining to timberlands and other real estate topics, and supporting due diligence work on current acquisition projects. Position will require relocation to Tuscaloosa, AL. Housing or a housing allowance will be provided.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist in creating and maintaining in-house financial models used in acquisitions Research topics applicable to acquisitions, real estate, alternative land uses for timberlands, and/or ESG trends; topic(s) will be catered to the interest of the employee Assist in building and maintaining models used in corporate strategic planning Support due diligence work on potential acquisitions Other corporate process improvements
Qualifications:
Working towards a bachelor s or master s degree in business, economics, finance, forestry, or a similar discipline Proficient in Microsoft Excel using PivotTables and other advanced functions Proficient in ArcMap Eager to learn Strong organizational skills Ability to communicate and simplify complex research findings to team members
