The Director of Payroll, Programs and Alliances Partnerships (PPA) will fully embrace the fast-moving ever-changing market to find new ways to grow within our current Distribution partners along with finding new opportunities through business development. This involves growing program and franchise business and shifting the traditional insurance model to an online presence inclusive of API quote and bind capabilities. The Director of PPA will report to the Head of Payroll, Programs, and Alliances and can be based remotely within the United States.
Responsibilities:
Partner Management of 4-6 of the most complex partners within PPA. Number depends on size, complexity, and need. All partners are solely owned by PPA meaning they are not co-managed by the field and do not have a dedicated Territory Manager assigned. Partner with underwriting on execution of current quote flow and build and execute strategy around new quote flow for assigned partners. Will have an assigned New Written Premium, New Policy Count, and Total Policy Premium goal. Manage all internal aspects of assigned partner contracts and compensation with legal, compensation, and leadership. Co-lead product, underwriting, and sales (PSU) discussions to help understand results and pull levers needed to drive countrywide profitable long-term growth. Partner with API team on current partner quote/bind APIs along with finding new opportunities for APIs. Business development within current set of assigned partners to find new lead sources along with assist team with BD across PPA. Work closely with Head of PPA to build and drive key growth initiatives across all of PPA focused on new lead sources, cross sell, and API quote and bind capabilities.
Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in Small Business Insurance sales or partner management required. Dynamic sales leader with experience managing complex large partnerships and strong sales business acumen. Knowledgeable of Small Business Insurance; Payroll/HCM industry and technology quoting platforms is a plus. Proven success with vetting and onboarding new large complex partners. Strategic and critical thinker with significant experience successfully building and executing upon strategy involving multiple business areas such as service and product. Visionary who can build and executive long-term strategy. Strong communication and executive presence both verbal and written; proficient in presentation building and presenting. Excellent track record for building and executing on strategy for growth and of successfully navigating a fast moving always changing market. Continuous learner who stays abreast of market trends, changes in market conditions, and competitor activity and respond accordingly. Able to work collaboratively with exceptional influencing skills to gain support for strategies required; able to influence and lead people and projects, using data and research to support recommendations. Flexibility and team player to be moved within team where your skills sets match partner need. Willing and able to travel as required; minimum of 10% of the time; travel requirements to be discussed. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
