From the Team at Afro Deli, comes Martiya. A Full Service Restaurant Concept in the heart of Minneapolis.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Guest Experience Deliver and maintain exceptional guest service standards Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service Resolve guest concerns and feedback in a professional and timely manner Lead by example with a hands-on approach during service Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, schedule, and develop team members including Front of House and Back of House as needed. Coach and counsel staff to achieve performance and service goals Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture Ensure consistent execution of service standards and procedures Financial & Inventory Management Manage labor and cost of goods (COGS) to meet or exceed budget goals Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships Monitor financial performance and adjust operations as needed Beverage Program Oversee beverage program operations, including inventory, training, and compliance Ensure the programming is evolving to meet guest expectations and facilitate return visits Support beverage program development and innovation while being profitable Safety, Compliance & Facilities Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment for staff and guests Enforce health, sanitation, and workplace safety standards Identify risks and respond effectively to incidents or emergencies Oversee facility maintenance, repairs, and overall upkeep Culture & Inclusion Lead a diverse team with professionalism, fairness, and cultural awareness Promote an inclusive environment where all employees and guests feel valued and respected Ensure compliance with all equal employment opportunity and anti-harassment policies
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager Strong knowledge of full-service restaurant operations (FOH/BOH) Strong Knowledge of Bill Pay and Restaurant Accounting Experience managing labor, inventory, and financial performance Proven leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills Passion for hospitality, food, and beverage Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends Experience with bar programs and retail operations is a plus
