Job Description

We are searching for a Sr Commissions Analyst at Sage. You will act as a key member of the Sales Planning & Strategy/Compensation team. This role helps to design, administer and drive key processes that facilitate financial forecasting, compensation and goal reporting, compensation payouts, and strategic planning activities. You will also be responsible for the analytical reporting required by senior management, including ad hoc reporting as needed. The position will also require audit skills to ensure the Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) software is 100% accurate and dependable when calculating and processing the various commission plans.

This is a Hybrid role based 3 days per week in one of our North American offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly commissions process for the direct and indirect sales team. This includes understanding and consistently applying the commission plan, maintaining quotas and rates, ensuring commission calculations comply with the plan, and managing exception requests
  • Manage weekly processes and deliverables, working with key stakeholders which may include forecasting, planning, projects, etc.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc analysis, build financial reports and models and drive insightful color of business performances; statistical modeling a plus
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, highlighting trends across key performance indicators and provide a financial point of view for Sales Management
  • Work across functions to drive efficient processes and systems, and leverage best practices
  • Prepare weekly, monthly & quarterly sales reports
  • Respond to various sales requests for information and ensure that reports meet the ongoing business needs of management
  • Drive projects (project management) either autonomously or in a team environment as needed; adhere to tight deadlines working in a fast paced environment; comfortable to work with ambiguity
  • Liaison with corporate finance, FP&A and other cross function teams as required
  • Provide insight into the financial impact of all commission and SPIFF proposals
  • Interpret data for the purpose of determining past performance and/or to project future results.
  • Perform reconciliations between Salesforce and other in-house data sources.

Knowledge of Xactly a plus.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of work experience in Sales Compensation
  • 10+ years of business and/or data and analysis and reporting, including report development.
  • Proficiency in SQL, visualization tools such as, Power BI or Tableau, Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookup tables), SFDC, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics and other data mining tools are essential components of the job.
  • Keen eye for detail, diligently attending to details and data integrity, pursuing quality in accomplishing tasks
  • Strong ability to effectively to present findings and translate data into an understandable documents or presentations
