Respond with Compassionate Action We are seeking an Emergency Response, Area Coordinator to join our International Projects team in South Sudan . Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the role of Emergency Response Area Coordinator , you will have the opportunity to: Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ Program Leadership & Coordination Partner with the Emergency Response Director to direct all projects in the assigned area, overseeing senior national and expatriate staff, and guiding field Program Managers to deliver technically sound, impact-focused humanitarian services. Strategic Planning, Reporting & Proposal Development Assess emerging needs, design new program concepts, and support the preparation, review, and timely submission of accurate donor reports, proposals, and budgets that reflect Samaritan's Purse's mission of compassionate relief. Operations, Logistics & Financial Stewardship Manage procurement, transport, inventory, and finance systems; monitor budgets, approve spending, and ensure accountable resource allocation while maintaining efficient logistics to sustain field activities. Security, Government & Community Relations Serve as the primary liaison with local authorities, NGOs, churches, and UN partners; uphold safety protocols, update contingency plans, and cultivate positive relationships that protect beneficiaries and advance collaborative mission work. Human Resources & Servant-Hearted Engagement Oversee payroll, contracts, and staff development in coordination with Juba HR, and regularly interact with beneficiaries to safeguard their welfare, modeling Christ-like compassion throughout program implementation. Other duties as assigned. What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor's degree and 3 to 4 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in cross-cultural team leadership strongly preferred. Experience in field level management, particularly in Africa and preferably in South Sudan, strongly preferred. Experience managing multiple programs through large and diverse teams strongly preferred. Experience in program cycle management strongly preferred. Ability to stay in field sites for extended periods of time and drive a standard transmission vehicle on rough road in extremely muddy conditions. 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
