Burke Mountain Resort is seeking an energetic, visionary, and hands-on Snowsports Manager to lead our Ski & Snowboard School and help create unforgettable experiences for our guests. This is more than a management role. What You'll Do:
As the Snowsports Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of the Ski & Snowboard School and lead all aspects of guest experience, staffing, training, and program development.
Leadership & Team Development:
Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and inspire instructors, supervisors, and department leaders Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and exceptional guest service Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development Partner with Human Resources on recruitment and retention strategies
Guest Experience Excellence:
Deliver worldclass experiences for guests of all ages and ability levels Maintain a guestfocused culture that exceeds expectations Develop and implement guest satisfaction initiatives Address guest concerns professionally and effectively
Program & Revenue Management:
Develop and manage lesson programs, pricing structures, and packages Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to promote Snowsports offerings Identify opportunities to grow participation and revenue Manage budgets, staffing plans, and labor costs
Operations & Safety:
Maintain departmental standards, policies, and operational plans Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, resort policies, and safety standards Oversee equipment and uniform inventory and maintenance Promote responsible skiing and snowboarding through staff and guest education
Resort Collaboration:
Work closely with all resort departments to enhance the overall guest experience Support resortwide initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture Participate in safety meetings and operational planning activities
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
5 to 10 years of progressive Snowsports, ski school, hospitality, or resort management experience Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple supervisors or managers Strong business, budgeting, staffing, and operational planning skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Passion for guest service and team development
Preferred Qualifications:
Full PSIA Certification Experience building lesson programs and revenuegenerating initiatives Strong understanding of ski resort operations Resort equipment certifications as applicable

Physical Requirements:
This is an active, hands-on leadership role that requires: Intermediate to advanced skiing and/or snowboarding ability Frequent walking, standing, and outdoor work in winter conditions Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds Comfort working in cold, snowy, wet, and variable mountain environments Ability to navigate resort terrain, including chairlift access, steep stairways, and slippery surfaces Work Environment Burke Mountain is a true four-season destination, but winter is where the magic happens. This role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods. You'll spend time both indoors and outdoors, often in challenging mountain weather conditions.
