Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring smooth and efficient road transportation operations. We have the following shifts open: Saturday and Sunday 4:30 am -1:00 pm Saturday and Sunday 7:30 am-4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday 1:00 pm -9:30 pm Saturday 3:30-midnight Other possible shifts include Monday through Friday 4:30 am-9:00 am and 4:30 am to 1:00 pm. Job Description This position will perform administrative duties at Phoenix UND Aerospace Flight Training Center. Individual will be self-motivated and report to the Office Manager. Dispatch aircraft, monitor compliance with aircraft maintenance requirements, process information in computer, monitor the status of all students and aircraft. Perform general clerical duties, including answering telephones, data entry, typing, filing and record keeping. Answer questions regarding policies and procedures, flight record information and invoicing, directing customers to the appropriate person. Examine and process invoicing and flight record data. Assist with end-of-month aircraft hobbs reconciliation procedures. Comply with policies and procedures of the UND Aerospace Foundation & FAA rules. Assist with driving customers and staff for the purpose of fulfilling the obligations of the UNDAF. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or equivalency. Ability to process data via PC. Driver's license with excellent driving record. Ability to work diversified work schedule. Good interpersonal skills, strong customer service abilities and positive attitude. Experience with computer systems including MS Office programs. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Willingness to travel as required. Willingness to work the hours needed to achieve desired results; schedule flexibility required. Preferred Qualifications College coursework in clerical field. Knowledge and experience with general aviation. Experience in working in a collegiate environment. Experience maintaining records. Previous Dispatch Experience Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring flights and operations.
- Ability to work at a computer workstation for long periods.
- Ability to view multiple computer screens and read detailed information.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by telephone, radio, and in person.
- Ability to hear and respond to operational communications in a potentially busy environment.
- Ability to type and use dispatch, weather, flight-planning, and scheduling software.
- Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular operations.
- Ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift office materials (typically up to 10-25 pounds, depending on the employer).
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as operational needs require.
