The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of information between various departments, ensuring timely responses to requests, and maintaining effective communication with all customers. This role requires strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

Responsibilities Answer calls:

Dispatchers answer and respond to calls, whether they are emergencies or non-emergencies.

Coordinate resources:

Dispatchers coordinate the deployment of resources, such as ambulances, gurney vans, or wheelchair units.

Route planning:

Dispatchers use mapping software to develop routes for delivery or driving. They also prioritize and organize the schedules of field units.

Provide information:

Dispatchers provide answers to questions by retrieving information from relevant departments.

Document calls:

Dispatchers log each call and maintain up-to-date call logs or dispatching software.

Anticipate issues:

Dispatchers anticipate and compensate for potential confusion or lack of information.

Calm customers:

Dispatchers may calm customers or members of the public during conflicts or crises. Some skills and experience that are often required for a dispatcher role include: Prior experience as a dispatcher Proficiency in English Strong communication skills Excellent multitasking and organizational skills Knowledge of relevant technologies, such as CAD Dispatch Software Understanding of procedures and guidelines for emergencies
