Job Description
DESCRIPTION
The Routing & Dispatch Coordinator manages daily route planning, sequencing accuracy, and optimization strategies within the Transportation Department. Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager, this role is the primary in meeting "Priority 1 Customers" delivery windows and maximizing fleet efficiency and utilization for all outbound sales orders and inbound purchase orders while adhering to driver safety and regulatory compliance. In addition, the Coordinator maintains system data integrity and continuity in and between the ERP and TMS software systems and internal reports and documents. The Routing & Dispatch Coordinator also provides support and back up to Dispatchers and Fleet Maintenance Coordinators creating additional layers of depth within the Transportation department.TITLE:

Daily Route Planning & Execution- Build Daily Routes for all outbound customer orders and inbound purchase order backhauls reloaded by the PPF Fleet.
- Sequence Stops Logically to minimize total mileage while executing to "Priority 1" customer delivery windows, all while maintaining regulatory compliance and minimizing driver fatigue.
- Balance Workload Capacities across available driver hours within a temperature controlled fleet.
- Adjust Routes Dynamically for staffing issues, holidays, traffic, off-day orders and special requests, and emergency customer or company needs. Dispatch Backup & Operational Support
- Step Into Dispatch Duties during peak times, vacations, or scheduling gaps.
- Communicate Real-Time Updates to management, drivers, and or other departments regarding delivery changes.
- Field Incoming Service Inquiries from sales and customers.
- Coordinate Key Recovery Actions for delayed trucks or missed delivery windows.
ERP & TMS
Data Integrity and Continuity- Maintain Core Data Fields including approved delivery days, time windows, route templates, geofences.
- Troubleshoot Data Discrepancies that cause routing/delivery errors, delayed deliveries, or unnecessary expense. Continuous Route Optimization
- Analyze Historical Data to identify recurring bottlenecks and inefficient paths.
- Refine Master Route Templates regularly to account for shifting business environments and seasonality.
- Collaborate with sales to integrate new/returning accounts without disrupting existing service levels.
- Reduce departmental expenses through targeted mileage reductions and increased fleet utilization.
