In this vital role, you will be the central hub for dispatching freight, managing vehicle routes, and ensuring seamless communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams. Your proactive approach will optimize logistics workflows, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations. Duties Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight transportation across national routes using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems. Monitor GPS and tracking technology data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments, providing real-time updates and resolving issues promptly. Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accurate data entry into logistics databases and maintaining detailed records of freight movements. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, analysis, and internal communication to support operational decision-making. Maintain strong internal communication channels to coordinate with supply chain teams, drivers, customer service representatives, and external vendors. Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in road transportation operations and fleet management. Ensure compliance with safety standards, vehicle maintenance schedules, and DOT regulations during dispatching activities. Experience Proven experience in transportation planning or dispatching within a logistics or supply chain environment. Familiarity with transportation management systems. Strong knowledge of tracking technology, and road transportation operations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes. Effective communication skills with phone etiquette expertise for managing customer service inquiries via multi-line phone systems. Ability to analyze transportation data to improve dispatch efficiency and operational workflows. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to freight transport and vehicle dispatching practices. Experience working within logistics or fleet management environments involving shipping & receiving processes and vehicle dispatch software is highly desirable.
