Summary:
The Norwalk Hospital Security Dispatch Operator provides a vital function to the daily security operations by way of command, control, and communication. The Dispatch Operation is the heart of the Security Department and constantly monitors video surveillance, receives all calls for service requests, Emergency Codes and Alerts, and dispatches all relevant information to the Patrol and Sentry Officers stationed throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information into the Security Daily Log. 2. Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions. 3. Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries 4. Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance. 5. Use radio, phone and/or computer to send Officers, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations. 6. Monitor the route, activity and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule according to operational needs. 7. Interacts with and provides information to various law enforcement agencies. 8. Operates specialized equipment (cameras, radios, etc...) through routine performance of duties. 9. Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements 10. Supports response efforts for patients considered high risk. 11. Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information. 12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 13. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values. 14. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance. 15. Performs other duties as required.
Education Skills Experience:
State of CT Security Officer license preferred. Preferred training/certification in related fields such as OC Spray, Baton, Taser, Handcuff, tactical driving, etc. Preferred training/certifications with Safety/Security related organizations including OSHA, NFPA, FEMA, IAHSS, IFPO, ASIS, etc.
