Records and submits computerized passenger requests and claims.
Responsible for:
Scheduling passenger pickups and routes based on requests for transportation phoned in and those of established routes, utilizing dispatch computer software program; Assists with scheduling personnel, vehicles and routes making adjustments for breakdowns, weather, last minute changes in passenger plans, etc; Acting as a community information and referral source for transportation options; Responsible for the collection and reporting of program data; Schedules Medicaid transportation; Facilitates communication between passengers, drivers, vehicle maintenance staff, Transit Asst. Manager, and Executive Director regarding vehicle safety, maintenance and repairs, routes and schedules, passenger complaints and service agency requests. Performs typing, filing and other transit program support services. May serve as backup driver as needed; Performs other duties as assigned by the Asst. RT Manager;
QUALIFICATIONS
Able to assume job responsibilities as outlined; Computer skills, able to maintain good records, and filing systems. Clear and easily understood voice, and the ability to hear transmitted messages; A For Hire Endorsement is required; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred. Pre-employment fitness for duty, drug screening and random drug testing during employment is required. Able to work in a smoke-free environment;
CHARACTERISTICS
Important personality traits include the ability to relate well to people, staff and the public, have a cooperative, dependable, responsible and respectful nature. Also important is a pleasant, efficient telephone manner, good computer and organizational skills and detail oriented and have a neat appearance. Must work well under pressure.
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
