Job Summary Mobile Homes Dispatcher Star Fleet Trucking, Incorporated Schedules and coordinates shipments with owner operators by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Communication with the factories, dealers and owner operators so a schedule can be set to ship homes. Enter units into the system that are ready for dispatch. Compiles list of available owner operators and available trips. Assigns vehicles according to factors such as, length, purpose of trip, freight or passenger requirements and preference of user. Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers. Confers with owner operators to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed or damaged merchandise. Required to be available after normal business hours for phone calls, text message and emails that need addressed immediately. Calling drivers when necessary to dispatch out loads, taking phone calls from drivers and answering their questions. Print off dispatch, pulling packets and any permits needed for the trip. Putting all the necessary paperwork into an envelope. Other projects assigned by terminal manager to help keep office running smoothly including but not limited to the following: doing yard inventory, asking customers for freight, entering claims into McCleod, gathering paperwork for shipments, ordering permits, processing order crossing paperwork. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: High School degree or G.E.D.
  • or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel software and Internet software. Must be able to adapt to new software when required. Ethics
