Job Description

Hourly/Non-Exempt Reports to:
County Manager Summary:
As Dispatcher, coordinate the movements of means of transport vans and buses by communicating with Drivers through computers, phones and two-way radios. Assign drivers to their respective vehicles and ensure that time schedules are maintained.
Essential Duties Dispatcher:
Answer phones at a high volume Schedule drivers and make vehicle assignments Communicate any changes to drivers and clients Keep track of the progress that drivers make along their routes. Follow the routes taken by the drivers Check the drivers' in and out time and transfer these records into files Handle any requests and/or complaints communicated by the clients. Verify eligibility and schedule agency services for clients Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Strong communication skills both written and verbal Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work independently Ability to work with computers and other office equipment
Requirements:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time High School Diploma or equivalent.
