Logistics Coordinator & Freight Dispatcher Location:
Louisville, KY Employment Type:

Monday-Friday Work Location:
On-site We are seeking an organized and dependable Logistics Coordinator & Freight Dispatcher to manage and coordinate all inbound and outbound freight for our manufacturing operation. This position works closely with customers, vendors, carriers, drivers, production, and warehouse personnel to ensure materials and customer shipments are scheduled and delivered efficiently. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule all inbound and outbound freight. Dispatch company drivers and arrange outside carriers as needed. Schedule pickups and deliveries for raw materials, feedstocks, customer orders, and other shipments. Communicate freight schedules and changes with drivers, carriers, customers, vendors, production, and warehouse personnel. Track shipments and resolve delays, missed appointments, or transportation issues. Obtain freight quotes and assist with carrier selection based on cost, availability, and service. Coordinate and maintain required shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing lists, scale/weight tickets, and delivery records. Assist with resolving damaged freight, shortages, rejected loads, detention, and delivery discrepancies. Maintain accurate freight, dispatch, and carrier records. Assist with
DOT/FMCSA
compliance for company drivers and company-owned trucks and trailers. Track required driver and equipment documentation, including licenses, medical certifications, registrations, inspections, and maintenance records. Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for company transportation equipment. Ensure required driver and equipment documentation is current before dispatch. Communicate transportation, equipment, or compliance concerns to management. Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, freight dispatch, transportation, or shipping/receiving preferred. Experience with TL, LTL, and freight carriers is preferred. Knowledge of BOLs and shipping documentation. General understanding of
DOT/FMCSA
requirements preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities. Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Manufacturing or industrial logistics experience is a plus. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the freight schedule from beginning to end. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal departments to keep materials and customer shipments moving on schedule.
