Fuel Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator At Newman Transport, our dispatchers don't just assign loads—they are the heartbeat of our operation. As a family-owned fuel transportation company serving the Gulf South for nearly 30 years, we pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our customers. Our dispatch team is often the first voice our customers hear and the person they rely on throughout the day. Because of that, we're looking for someone who is equal parts problem solver, communicator, and relationship builder. This is a fast-paced position where you'll coordinate drivers, manage customer requests, solve problems in real time, and help us continue growing by providing outstanding service and identifying opportunities for additional business. What You'll Do Every day is different, but your responsibilities will include: Dispatching drivers and managing daily fuel deliveries Building strong relationships with customers through frequent communication Identifying opportunities to secure additional loads and increase business with existing customers Handling customer requests, scheduling changes, and service issues professionally Coordinating with drivers to maximize efficiency and productivity Planning routes that reduce unnecessary miles while maintaining excellent customer service Entering and managing load information accurately Working closely with management to ensure smooth daily operations Solving problems quickly while keeping customers informed and drivers moving The Person Who Excels Here We're looking for someone who: Enjoys building relationships and talking with customers Thinks several steps ahead instead of simply reacting Can juggle multiple priorities without becoming overwhelmed Takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what needs to be done Is confident making decisions in a fast-moving environment Understands that exceptional customer service is one of our biggest competitive advantages Wants to contribute to the growth of the company—not just complete assigned tasks Previous dispatching or logistics experience is preferred, but we place just as much value on attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. Schedule This is a full-time swing shift position that includes days, evenings, nights, rotating weekends, and holidays. 24 hour shifts at a time.
