Job Description We are seeking a skilled and organized Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing daily operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services or products. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a strong sense of responsibility to keep operations running smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct drivers on daily runs and backhauls Work with carriers for longer hauls Effectively plan and schedule routes for drivers or service technicians to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers and customers Provide clear and timely instructions to drivers, addressing any issues or changes in schedules Handle and resolve any issues that may arise during the course of operations, including delays, emergencies, or changes in plans Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of routes, deliveries, and other relevant information Assigning loads to forklift operators Verifying load counts and generating Bill of Ladings Utilize systems and software for tracking and reporting purposes Respond to customer inquiries, providing updates on delivery status and addressing concerns or requests Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through clear communication and problem-solving Hold weekly driver meetings on driver safety and efficiency Controlling the sign in of all visitors and customers Help monitor trailer maintenance Control all plant logistics movement Assigning doors and directing trailer movements in and out Manage drop trailer pool Ensure loads are being loaded/unloaded in most productive locations Work with Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager in accordance with plant policies, and procedures Assist load planning Processing new hire paperwork Production, safety, KPI, and training data entry Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, regulations, and safety standards Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager This list of duties is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that senior management may deem necessary.
Qualifications/Skills:
Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or a similar role is preferred Familiar with Microsoft Office Systems and Microsoft Outlook Email Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate and relay information Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to think on your feet and find effective solutions to challenges as they arise Familiarity with dispatching software, GPS systems, and other relevant technologies Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service
