We are seeking an experienced Transportation Dispatcher to join our Communications Center and play a critical role in maintaining the high standards that have defined Metro Cars for decades. Dispatching experience is required. The Role Our Dispatchers are at the center of our operation. Using Livery Coach, iCabbi, two-way radios, and other communication systems , you will coordinate and monitor multiple fleets of professional chauffeurs, manage airport rotations, respond to real-time service needs, and help ensure hundreds of moving pieces come together seamlessly. This position requires someone who can see the bigger picture while never losing sight of the details. At Metro Cars, dispatching is not simply assigning rides — it is about protecting the quality of every trip and supporting the exceptional experience our clients have come to expect. Primary Responsibilities Assign and monitor reservations across multiple fleets of professional chauffeurs. Proactively monitor upcoming trips and chauffeur availability to maintain efficient operations. Coordinate airport rotations to ensure timely and reliable client service. Provide chauffeurs with accurate routing, pickup, and drop-off information. Assign follow-up trips and adjust chauffeur assignments as operational needs change. Monitor trips in real time and respond quickly to delays, schedule changes, cancellations, or other service challenges. Communicate professionally with chauffeurs through phone, dispatch systems, and two-way radio. Serve as a resource for chauffeurs who need assistance while on the road. Work closely with Customer Service to secure, verify, and support client reservations when necessary. Communicate potential service issues to the Communications Supervisor and appropriate operational teams. Coordinate with Quality Control when service concerns or reservation changes require additional attention. Maintain a calm, professional, and solutions-oriented approach in a fast-moving environment. Help ensure that every operational decision supports Metro Cars' standards of safety, reliability, professionalism, and luxury customer service . What We're Looking For Successful Metro Cars Dispatchers are proactive thinkers who can quickly evaluate a situation, determine the best course of action, and communicate clearly with the people around them. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of professional dispatching experience Strong knowledge of the Metro Detroit area, major roadways, airports, hotels, venues, and business districts Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to anticipate operational needs and plan ahead Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable working with computerized dispatch and reservation systems Ability to communicate professionally using a two-way radio Friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor Ability to remain calm and effective during high-volume or time-sensitive situations Availability to work weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 transportation operation Preferred Experience Chauffeured transportation or limousine dispatch Executive transportation Taxi or rideshare dispatch Courier or logistics dispatch Airport transportation operations Experience with Livery Coach and/or iCabbi Why Metro Cars?
